Living in LA we’ve seen it all, and in terms of cupcakes… we’ve still seen it all! The cupcake craze seems to be turning into an “LA thing,” rather than some short-lived fad. One place in particular, that is located right across the street from our apartment (eek!), is Sprinkles Cupcakes.
Candace Nelson, the founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, first learned to bake from her great grandmother who baked desserts for a restaurant in San Francisco back in the 1930’s. Her scratch-based cupcakes are made with only the finest ingredients; for instance, the salt crystals on the Salted Caramel Cupcakes are hand harvested from the pristine seas of Brittany, France! (Where my family is from!) These cupcakes are only available until February 24th, so hurry up and get one while you can! Trust me, you want to.
In addition to the seasonal cupcakes, Sprinkles always has classic flavors that you are sure to love. Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Marshmallow, Red Velvet (vegan option) and Cinnamon Sugar are available everyday of the week, while Chai Latte is available only on Fridays, pumpkin is available only on Wednesday and Fridays, and Chocolate Coconut on Wednesday and Sundays. So if you find THE ONE you just LOVE (Carrot)… you may have to wait an entire week to have it again! No wonder the line is always so long, everyone has a favorite. Be sure to check out their menu before heading over if you are craving particular flavor
Get this, in honor of the Academy Awards, Sprinkles is featuring the Red Carpet Cupcake. This cupcake is your classic red velvet with white butter cream frosting and a shiny, edible, golden star on top! If you order a dozen, which is great for an Oscar party!, they adorn the box with a limited edition Sprinkles Star Sticker.
In a rush? Not a problem. Just swing by the FIRST EVER Cupcake ATM in the world! It’s located in Beverly Hills at the original Sprinkles Bakery, is open 24/7 and takes credit cards only. Sprinkles has been talking about opening up more of these ATMs at various locations across the US… maybe they’ll open one up across the street from your home
