We had a lot of fun filming this one, that is before our camera cut us off at the 30-minute mark! Regardless, it’s filled with a ton of insight, fun, enthusiasm and adventure!

Still curious about how we find these epically WILD spots? Well, with some patience, persistence, GoogleEarth GPS (thanks to our tep wifi device) and a hint of imagination, there really isn’t anything we/you can’t find!

mr and mrs adventure, cooking outside, outdoor grill, vanlife, vanlife europeWe seek solitude. We avoid cities and tourist destinations. We immerse ourselves in nature and tread lightly. We search for beaches, lakes and unpopulated “edges.” We cook our own meals and eat from the land. We enjoy slow mornings and high peaks, long trails and fresh creeks. We escape to watch the stars grow bright and to feel the cool breeze on our skin at night. We live from our souls and love from our hearts… life feels best in these WILD parts.

You really don’t need a lot of stuff. My husband and I saved 150 euro on flight tickets when we decided to fly to Croatia on a monthlong trip with hand luggage only. It worked like a charm despite us traveling two kids, 1 and 2,5 years old respectively (half our luggage consisted of diapers when we left home). For us, that amount of money was worth five nights of accommodation in private rooms/apartments. A campervan wasn’t really an option for us this time, although we loved it on our trip to New Zealand a few years ago (before we had kids).

I totally agree with you when it comes to love for nature, solitude, freedom and simple things in life. Thanks, Brittany and Drew, for your inspiring blog – I will keep on reading it! If you haven’t been to Cres Island yet I’d recommend it – I think you would enjoy it. We spent three days there, mostly hiking.

Love from Sara, Sweden (we met briefly at the Sun Salutation and Sea Organ in Zadar – I’m the mother of the dancing girl and the little girl in the baby carrier)

Sarah, it’s so great to hear from you! We love hearing your story, it gives us hope that our adventures can continue even when we have kids 🙂 We just made it to Istria, hiked up Vojak today and tomorrow we’ll be biking from Roč to Hum! We will be sure to keep Cres at the top of our list as we approach:) Sending you and your beautiful family all of the very best! Until next time

That was a fun video and lots of great insights. Our family of five (ages 18, 15, 13) loves wild camping as well. One of our favorite was in the mountain south of Karakol, Kyrgyzstan. After a 6 hour hike, we arrived at a river where there are 5 natural hot springs spread along the river for around 500 meters. We pitched our tent next to one of it and enjoyed dipping in the warm hot spring while counting the shooting star. We got to bath in it. Wash dishes with hot water. And there was just our family for the whole 2 days. Magical. I love your blog because the photos and video are so professional but also very creative and fun. Our blog is similar to yours, except we are a family – sufamilyadventures.com and we just finished our 365 days trip along the Silk Road!
