Engagement Photos Round 3! Flowers + Heart Balloon + Angel Wings
I’m a lucky gal, and us lucky gals don’t need photo shoots, frills or a pretty ring to know this (though they are a nice touch), it’s something we know from the very beginning. It’s the reason I said “Yes,” and the reason I will do everything in my power to make this thing called “love” work. And love IS work. It’s choosing to be selfless and kind, loving and generous, patient and forgiving, especially when all you want to do is take a day off… but anything worth fighting for is worth having and love, my friends, is just one of those things:
Let’s turn the spotlight on our incredibly talented photographer, Miss Jessica Leigh. Jessica and I go way back, like Catholic school girl uniforms and cafeteria lunch days! She’s into photography, delicious sandwiches, awesome art and having tried out her wings in the city of angels, she’s currently in the process of moving to NYC to pursue some new and exciting horizons!:
When she offered to do a round of our engagement photos I was absolutely thrilled, and once we saw the magic she did with her bomb Canon 5D Mark III and 24-70 mm lens, we were both blown away:
Our relationship may have started in Gainesville, but it was #madeinLA
As we walked along Melrose Avenue, Drew in his tie and me in my dress, Jess scanned the scene for some picture perfect locations when all of a sudden, Moe’s Flowers caught her eye. We walked closer and found that we had arrived at one of the sweetest little stores with some of the most beautiful flowers, including my very favorite, sunflowers:
Not only was the inside beautiful, but the ivy and vine wrapped exterior was almost even more enchanting:
With red roses in hand, we made our way to one of my favorite displays of LA street art, Colette Miller’s Angel Wings. Colette is an LA based, renowned Angel Wing artist who has been painting angel wings across the world in hopes of spreading peace and inspiring the good in humanity. It looks like her plan worked 😉
When in the City of Angels, you might as well spread your wings!
As I said, I am one lucky gal, and with an angel by his side Drew must have picked up a four-leaf clover somewhere along the way.
Thank you Jess for a wonderful day and these iconic images. We will forever associate you with sunflowers and angel wings, some of my favorite things!
If you would like to get in touch with Jessica to schedule a shoot of your own, please don’t hesitate to reach out to her on her contact page.
