Good Bye LA, Hello New Adventure!
First off we have to say Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you all are enjoying this special holiday in some way that fills your heart with joy. This year we’re dedicating our Thanksgiving to all of the love and incredible memories LA has given us. It’s hard to believe that our first hike to the Hollywood Sign (above) was over 3 years ago! Fresh out of college with nothing but big dreams, we moved to LA to find… ourselves. Now that we know what we want out of life, it’s time for us to move on and seek it in everyway possible!
So where are we going? I guess the more appropriate question is where AREN’T we going! It’s all happening in 2 parts, with Part 1 starting this Sunday. The adventure begins with a trip up to San Francisco to meet with JanSport on Monday about… get ready… sponsorship! If you remember, Drew and I met as interns for JanSport back in college, it’s funny how it all comes full circle:
From there we will be heading on over to Utah and Arizona to explore some of the epic canyon lands, including The Wave, which we have been looking forward to for so long! Antelope Canyon, Sedona, Santa Fe, White Sands National Monument and Big Bend NP, are just a few of the other stops we’ll be making along the way. We used this awesome site called Roadtrippers to map out our route below:
We like leaving room for change and spontaneity so other than that all we know is that we want to be home for Christmas. THEN, remember how I said this will all be happening in 2 parts? Well, Part 2 is going to be an epic 8 month long cross country extravaganza! We’ll be traveling in an awesome 21′ Sprinter Van, complete with all the necessities, including a Queen-sized bed! We’ll be writing and taking photos every step of the way, making sure you don’t miss a beat of this once in a lifetime journey.
As excited as we are for it all to start, our last hike to the Hollywood Sign was still bitter sweet. Between my gig taking photos with products and people’s messages in front of the sign and every single one of our guests asking us to lead them to the iconic beacon of fame, we had made the journey to those 9 pearly white letters at least 200 times, no joke. I bet we could get our names in the Guinness Book of World Records if we recorded them all properly. But as any great Hollywood film director knows, the show must go on! And we can’t wait to see where it takes us.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy lives to read our stories, now go check on that turkey and give someone you love a hug!!
