Our Engagement Party!
With twinkling lights, Sheila’s freshly baked cookies, friends and family all around, we couldn’t think of a better time to celebrate our Engagement. Everyone did such a wonderful job pitching in, guests made delicious dishes, while dad and Drew hung the lights, mom made the awesome “Welcome Sign” and my sweet cousin arranged the decorations and flowers. Everyone’s efforts came together making the night not only beautiful, but absolutely unforgettable as well.
With our potluck style setup, we had to be sure to have a filler in case there weren’t enough deviled eggs and cheese cubes to go around, we figured a 6-foot La Spadas sub would do the trick! Mom and Aunt Sherri hoisted the 60-pound marvel up onto the table and we were ready for the party to begin!
Our night was filled with laughter, warm hugs and endless things to be grateful for, and though we missed those who couldn’t attend, with them there in spirit, we couldn’t have imagined a better celebration!
One of the highlights of the night was when our guests were pulled aside for the interview with my cousin’s wonderful boyfriend, Andrew, grandson of the beloved Mike Wallace of 60 Minutes, making him the perfect candidate for the position. Check out his set up below!
By the look on Andrew’s face and Olivia’s nail biting below, I can’t imagine what my dad and Grandma were saying!
We weren’t let off the hook so easily, Andrew made sure to interview us as well! We were asked what our favorite thing was about each other, how we knew he/she was “the one,” and where we see ourselves in 10 years! Now that one was the real stumper.
One of the best parts about the night was announcing my bridal party! We gathered everyone for a moment and I gave each of my gals a gold, vintage heart locket with a personalized photo inside. All of my favorite memories have them by my side and I can’t wait to see their smiling faces, and heart lockets, on the big day 🙂
And for the grand finale, CAKE! A Carvel Ice Cream Cake for Drew, a Vegan Carrot Cake from Half-Baked for me and of course, a Classic Vanilla Cake for all!
It was a beautiful and delicious night that we will never forget…
…I can’t wait for the night we say, “I do!”
