Our Romantic Honeymoon in London
If you had told sun-loving, flip-flop wearing, Floridian/Californian me that I would be honeymooning in 50-degree London… I would have said you were CRAZY! Yet here I am… with my love by my side keeping me warm and happy… in London… on our honeymoon.
After taking a stress-free, 1.5 hour nap/ride from Gatwick to Piccadilly using Blacklane’s elite car service, we arrived to the Park Lane Hotel (thank you Starwood Points) where it was finally time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. No more packing, no more planning, no more wedding construction or deconstruction, just us, London and our honeymoon… we decided to start with a stroll through St. James’ Park, which lead us to the incredibly beautiful Buckingham Palace:
Can you spot the unicorn below? On either side of the Buckingham Palace gate is the English Lion and the Scottish Unicorn, two animals that support and hold the royal coat of arms. The Unicorn of Scotland symbolizes innocence and purity, healing powers, joy and even life itself – pretty cool!
Tip: The BEST walking/hiking/winter/everything boots EVER? Pajar’s Greenland Boot thanks to the experts at Sole Labz 🙂
Known as “the shard of glass,” this stunning 8,000-foot, 95-story masterpiece is adorned with 11,000 plates of glass, and offers the most incredible, sweeping views of London possible… London Eye watch out! It’s no wonder The Shard is quickly becoming London’s new emblem. We decided to go just in time to watch the city transform from day into night:
Everyone knowns about the “London Bridge” but the “Tower Bridge” is actually London’s iconic crowned jewel:
Sparkling lights, an incredible city and an even more incredible man… London can’t get much more romantic than this!
Oh but it can! We had worked up quite an appetite walking all across the city, but being that it was our honeymoon we were in the mood for something really special…
The Hospital Club, located in Covent Garden, is the center for London’s creative community. It houses a television studio, screening room, live performance space, multiple lounges, a gallery over seven floors and an incredible restaurant! Read more about this fascinatingly-unique space here.
Sourcing everything from British farmers and suppliers, The Hospital Club offers some of the best that London has to offer, take a look!
The service was 5-star (Ricardo and Jacob you were wonderful!), the atmosphere inspiring, the presentation impeccable, the drinks bubbly, the chips, aka. fries, HUGE and with so many incredible tastes flying around, Drew and I both agreed that the goat cheese and almond risotto was our favorite! Fun fact: there is no rice in this dish at all, it is actually made with minced up pieces of cooked celery! It was absolutely DELICIOUS:
And then came the dessert! CHOCOLATE:
And the Sticky Toffee Pudding Trifle… OMG. A MUST:
We couldn’t have been any happier, the level of class was undeniable from the moment we walked in and were treated to this beautiful bottle of honeymoon bubbly:
